Regular rail connections
Trains from different regions of Polish, Western Europe and Ukraine meet in Gliwice every day. The terminal provides full service to the trains based on 6-hour loading windows. Trains enter the terminal thanks to shunting operations on Gliwice Port – terminal – Gliwice port line, guaranteed by the operator of the facility, PCC Intermodal.

The ‘must be’ element of intermodal transport is transshipment at the terminals. PCC Intermodal SA operates 4 land transhipment terminals located in: Kutno, Brzeg Dolny, Gliwice, Frankfurt/Oder and containers depo in Kolbuszowa. The company invests in modern transshipment equipment, offers comprehensive train services, as well as additional services such as storage, cleaning, sealing, cooling/heating, weighing of containers.
Flexible road haulage
Road transport to/from the terminal in Kutno covers Łódź and the surrounding area, but reaches as far as the Mazowieckie or Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodeships.
The terminal is a safety valve not only for companies and warehouses from the Kutno, Stryków or Łódź economic zones, it is a convenient and safe alternative for many supply chains and manufacturers in the very center of the country.
Terminal History
Located near the Gliwice Canal within the Silesian Logistics Center, is one of the most beautifully situated transshipment terminals in Poland, operated by PCC Intermodal. Eight years after the opening of the container terminal in Gliwice, modernization work was completed at the end of 2015. Following the expansion, the terminal, with an operational area of 50,000 square meters, was equipped with two new gantry cranes. The facility’s transshipment capacity has increased to 150,000 TEU per year. Thanks to the modernization, the terminal has become the most modern intermodal logistics center in Upper Silesia, used by both small and large manufacturers from a wide variety of industries who are shifting their cargo from road to rail. Due to its location, Gliwice is an ideal hub for serving customers in southern Poland, as well as in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Many imported goods, mainly from Asia, also arrive here in containers.

Wojciech Skrzypiński - Director
Director of the terminal in Kutno since the beginning of its construction in 2010. He has been associated with intermodal transport since 2004. Before starting his adventure with PCC, he worked in the Maersk Line team, dealing with railways, terminals, depots and equipment management. His professional interests are primarily modern operational management and technologies supporting the operation of terminals. He is a member of associations related to transport, the initiator of solutions improving the efficiency of the intermodal industry, both in the national and international environment.
“Where the terminal in Kutno is today, there used to be an empty field, and the nearby A1 motorway was just beginning to be built. The city has gained a transshipment hub, connected by a dense network of rail and car connections with economically attractive regions of our part of Europe. Very quickly, it turned out that Kutno is a great place to invest, and the location of the terminal at the intersection of the north-south and east-west axes was the proverbial bull’s eye. Over the last dozen or so years, several dozen new companies have appeared in Kutno and the surrounding area, including very large plants. These are manufacturing companies, distributors, and behind the fence of the terminal, a comprehensive, universal warehouse facility has been created, which allows for efficient handling of increasing cargo weights.”

About Marcin in the company we call “a seasoned team player with leadership skills”. On a daily basis, he co-creates the operational strategy of the terminal in Kutno and supervises its proper development. He has been associated with the TSL industry continuously since 2008. He took his first steps in intermodal at the Terminals in Krzewie. He has been a co-creator of the terminal complex in Kutno since the beginning of its existence. He is distinguished by openness, empathy and a positive attitude to everyday life. He is constantly improving his skills in the area of operations and management. He spends his free time actively. Sport allows him to rebuild his physical and mental strength and give 100% of himself every day while performing his official duties.

Born in 1963. In 1987 graduated from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Gdynia Maritime University. Professionally active in the Transport & Logistics industry for over 35 years. In years 1997 – 2005 the Managing Director of Nedlloyd Polska and then P&O Nedlloyd Polska. From April 2008 until June 2009 the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PCC Port Szczecin. He has been nominated the President of the Management Board of PCC Intermodal SA in March 2006.
Temporary storage warehouse
In its entirety, the area of the terminal in Gliwice is recognized by the Customs Service as a Temporary Storage Warehouse. PCC Intermodal – the operator of the terminal in Gliwice has its own Customs Agency, which helps customers using intermodal solutions provided by the company in efficiently organizing customs issues in the export, import and transit of goods.

SAFETY & SECURITY
The Authorised Economic Operator certificate for “Safety and Security” was obtained by PCC Intermodal SA on March 13th, 2012, and the “Customs Simplification, Safety and Security” classification was awarded to the operator on March 26th, 2018.
The AEO-S certificate awarded by the Customs Chamber in Gdynia is a document honoured in all EU Member States. It confirms the quality and safety of services offered by the company and is a guarantee of the reliability and credibility of its activities.
As part of the certification, the company has met a number of stringent procedural requirements such as:
- improving the organization of internal security procedures,
- securing access to operational systems,
- physical protection of offices and terminals,
- and also demonstrated a real drive to optimise the logistics processes undertaken.
The ‘Customs Simplification, Safety and Security’ process validation documents are a structured extension of the 2012 certificate, with the guarantee of simplification of customs formalities, which is an important asset when dealing with customs authorities as well as business partners.
Regular Quality Assessment
Safety & Quality Assessment System (SQAS) is a comprehensive tool for the detailed assessment of the safety and quality of operational activities carried out by companies involved in the chemical supply chain. The system covers both neutral and hazardous products subject to ADR (road transport), RID (rail transport), ADN (inland waterways) and HCDG (High Consequence Dangerous Goods) regulations.
The SQAS assessment is carried out by independent, certified auditors, ensuring the neutrality and obiectivity of the results and the high quality of the audit.
The audit process is based on a standardised questionnaire that covers many key areas of the business, including:

- Quality management
- Employee safety
- Environmental protection
SQAS audit reports are periodically updated and publicly available.
They make it possible to systematically monitor and improve the safety, quality and efficiency of the logistics chains managed by the company.
